School Activities
ANZAC Day
All our Charter Schools are well represented and actively participate in the March and the Dawn Service. Books are donated by individuals and the Sub-Branch, wrapped by the Women’s Auxiliary and placed at the Cenotaph at the Dawn Service. They are collected, sorted into bundles and presented to school representatives at a Book Presentation Night.
End of Presentation Days
Miranda RSL Awards are provided to schools for presentation at their Annual presentation awards ceremony. The awards are monetary and recipients are nominated by the schools. Sub-Branch committee members present the awards at schools’ annual presentation nights.
Book Voucher Presentation Evenings
In June each year a book presentation evening is held at the RSL Club where representatives from the charter schools are presented with a package of books which had been placed on the Central Road Cenotaph on ANZAC Day.
Commemoration
At the invitation of our Charter Schools, Committee members and volunteers visit local schools in the days before ANZAC day to speak at the schools ANZAC service. This important sub-Branch activity with students informs and helps maintain the ANZAC tradition.
